• Welcome

The purpose of this blog is to share what inspires us. Heather Donlan Photography is a boutique photography studio located in sunny Naples, Florida. The art of photography is only half of what we do. Forming intimate relationships with
our clients and making people smile is what completes our role as a photography studio.

    We love what we do.

La Playa Pups

This winter has been colder and wetter than usual.  Although it puts a damper on those coming down to lay on the beach…it does do great things for the early morning and afternoon light!

Calling all women

Boudoir sessions are the new craze.  Sexy and sultry, but always classy these sessions are intended to make you feel good about yourself and really celebrate the female form!  Enough with the dieting it’s time to treat yourself to something that is going to make YOU feel good.  Calling all mothers and wives or anyone just looking to have a fun time in front of the camera.  Some images from a recent session posted below.

Senior Session in and around Naples

I spent a weekend afternoon with this adorable and incredibly photogenic senior, Paige.  She was so relaxed and her easy-going nature only added to the feel of so many of these photos.  We added in her sister, mom and father for a mini-beach session at the end of her shoot.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep

Baby Jeremiah was photographed through the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep program.  This sweet baby boy was born with major brain damage.  I was called to capture some portraits of Jeremiah and his mom, Evodie.  I just love the first image shown…a beautiful portrait of mother and child.  I think this is a photo almost any new mother can relate with.  The second is simply heart-breaking.  I can’t begin to imagine the pain this new mother is feeling, grappling with so many feelings and information all at the same time.  The joy of finally meeting her son and horrible pain realizing that his time on this earth is so fleeting.  Lovely Evodie…it was an honor to be able to spend such precious moments with you and Jeremiah.

Photographing President George W. Bush

Last week, I had the amazing opportunity of photographing President George W. Bush.  He was charismatic and engaging and truth be told, really surprised me with how approachable he was.  It was an incredible experience for me and my team.  I can only hope that this is the first of many Presidents we are given the opportunity to photograph!

The many faces of Neeva

Look how expressive she is!  You could simply eat her up!

Sunset Beach Session in Naples

This couple got married a few months ago and her friends surprised the newlyweds with a sunset beach session as a fun gift!  It can be hard to get comfortable in front of the camera, especially for an hour, with someone who have just met.  But these guys did great…and hopefully enjoyed themselves while we were at it!

Girls Night Out

A few photos from our Girls Night Out Event held at the studio in December.  The first 15 people to the event got a new Facebook photo.  Some of my favorites are of girlfriends hamming it up together…myself included!  Three separate boutiques brought goods into the studio for a private party.  We raised a bundles of toys for Toys For Tots thanks to all the generous ladies who brought gifts in as their “cover charge”!  Thanks for a fun night ladies and we’ll see you again next year!

All you need is…brotherly love

So…sometimes the sessions don’t always go as planned.  When I’m working with young kids, as we all know, it can be a total crap shoot as to what type of mood they are in.  And when you have more one than child, then you’re almost guaranteed a meltdown at some point…

What makes me giggle about the following photos is that I’ve simply cropped out the little man with the meltdown to capture these super sweet and loving images of the other two brothers.

Here are a few others from the session.  The little man rebounded super quick and we got amazing shots the rest of the afternoon.  Behold the power of candy…and brotherly love!

Family Beach Photos

This was another very chilly morning on the beach.  This family was such troopers about getting out on the cold sand (and getting up so early that morning too).  All well worth it once they see how everything turned out!
